China´s Wildlife

China is one of the countries with the greatest diversity of wildlife in the world. There are more than 4,400 species of vertebrates, more than 10 percent of the world’s total. There are nearly 500 animal species, 1,189 species of birds, more than 320 species of reptiles and 210 species of amphibians. Wildlife peculiar to China includes such well-known animals as the giant panda, golden-haired monkey, South China tiger, brown-eared pheasant, white-flag dolphin, and Chinese alligator totaling more than 100 species.

The people

The demographics of China are identified by a large and diverse population. Villages set in bamboo groves, atop misty hills, inhabited by Miaos, Gejias, and other minorities whose traditions, dances, costumes, and festivals still maintain mysterious. In 1995, China released a most amazing news report about two unclassified tribes of people living in the Sichuan province on the eastern border of the Baian Kara Ula Mountains. They call themselves the Dzopa or Han and they firmly believe that their predecessors were from outer space. To date, anthropologists have been unable to categorize either of these tribes into any known race.
