A beautiful forest, the shores of Lake Saimaa and fresh air inspire everyone. The Great Lake Saimaa, which is 4,400 square kilometers wide, is the country’s largest lake, lalong the border, in a place where two cultures who have been in constant contact over the centuries come together: the Russian and the Finnish. Here lives a rare and endangered freshwater seal species, the Saimaa ringed seal, as well as another endangered species, the Saimaa salmon.
During this trip we will explore the waters and forests of the Lakes area by foot and on kayaks. We will start and end the trip on a wooden design villa or a hotel located near Lake Saaimo. The cottage has double rooms and has many facilities, including a sauna. In nearby facilities we will find a swimming pool, a restaurant, a sauna and a wellness center.
The calm waters of Lake Saimaa will invite us to browse and discover the many wooded islands, harboring large rock formations and cliffs. During our cruise we will stay in cabins. This is a adventure journey for authentic nature and culture that we will discover with the help of a local guide, suitable for those people looking for a high degree of comfort but who also like outdoor activities.
