The east of Greenland has some of the most challenging mountains and unending glaciers. These mountains cover the east coast of Greenland for a great part from north to south. A boat will transport us and our equipment to the base of the Karale glacier, where our skitour will start. The Karale Glacier is one of the major glaciers in the area north of Kuummiit. This area is undescribably spectacular with massive glacier, huge icebergs and jagged mountains.”Place de la Concorde“, where five glaciers merge in to one another, is a good location for setting up base camp to explore the countless peaks and stauning glaciers.
During 9 days we will challenge and explore the glaciers with our skies and pulkas. The traverse is not hard, yet glacier travelling and rescue techniques are necessary abilities. It will be a very special experience not to be found elsewhere…imagine yourself camping with the northern lights glowing above your head and arising above the countless peaks.
