WILDERNESS GUIDE LEVEL 2 (Arctic)

The Wilderness guide Level 2 (Artic) course is an intensive and highly demanding course for those you would like to obtain a profound knowledge on guiding in the Artic region.

A guide can apply for Level 2 certification after:

– A minimum of 28 days of training (level 2 course).

– A minimum of 28 days of extra guiding within Level 2 competences (with at least one week non-stop with overnight experience).

– A minimum of 3 specializations.

– The guide must have a valid WFA certificate.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
– Guide groups on demanding expeditions in wilderness areas.
 
– Organize a travel or expedition on international level with a length of more then 7 days.
 
– Train and prepare participants within its professional profile.
 
– Be aware of technical, mental and physical condition of participants at any time.
 
– Apply adequate techniques in order to minimize environmental impacts.
 
– Understand and transmit local social and cultural behavior.
 
– Pintepretate and share knowledge on local flora & fauna.
SPECIFIC TRAINING MODULES

INTRODUCCION MODULE

A 10-day course delivered in a semi-virtual and homestudy modality.

REQUIREMENTS

· Be at least 18 years of age.
· Intermediate level of English.
· Level 1 WGA training.
· Level 1 qualification level/proven experience and training.
* Level 1 WGA training.
· After the specific training modules a training period is requiered and participants are assesed to obtain the W.G.A. level certification.

  • Communications (SAT, radio, PLB).
  • Ski Kiting introduction.
