REACHING THE KARAKORUM COLOSSUS

Pakistan together with Nepal are the two great references at the level of high altitude mountaineering worldwide. Nepal is crossed by the great Himalaya Mountains, and has within its borders a total of 8 summits that exceed eight thousand meters. However, Pakistan has a more complete structure of mountain ranges and massifs. Located on horseback are 2 large mountain ranges, the Karakorum mountain range and the Hindu Kush mountain range. The first is the most spectacular, compact and rugged of all the mountain ranges of the himaláyico system, and in it are 5 mountains that exceed the magical barrier of 8000 meters, among which is the second highest mountain on the planet, K2 with its 8611 meters high.
Our trip will take us to the heart of the Karakorum, along a spectacular 62 km trek, traversing the valley and the Baltoro glacier, until reaching Concordia, a privileged place located at the crossroads of four great glaciers: Baltoro, Godwin Austin, Gasherbrum and Vigne. From here, and with a view of four summits of more than 8000 meters, we will access the K2 base camp, located almost 5,150 meters high. In the following days we will cross the Gondogoro La pass, at 5,700 meters, the highest point of the trek, to descend towards the Hushe valley.
